Viking Electric offers a summer internship program that targets college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree and who are within three semesters of graduation. The program offers interns an opportunity to apply their education to a business setting. Over the course of 12 weeks, interns are exposed to all aspects of Viking Electric’s business and the electrical distribution industry. The goal is to provide real-life business experience for the interns and show them how their skills and passion can put them on a rewarding career path with Viking Electric.
Viking Electric offers a full-time, entry-level, trainee program that targets individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and who are interested in getting on a fast track to a rewarding career with the company. During the 18-month program, trainees are stationed in a variety of departments to learn about the essential operations of the business, including our history and culture, policies and procedures, products and services—all with respect to relating to external customers and internal co-workers and managers. The goal of the program is to provide a strong foundation of knowledge on which someone can build a career with Viking Electric.
As part of the larger electrical distribution industry, Viking Electric participates in a variety of training courses and certification opportunities, which are offered through national programs, product manufacturers and industry experts. The goal of these courses and certifications is to provide associates the best opportunities to succeed among the competition.
Viking Electric supports associates who wish to continue their education, and work towards increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. In keeping with this philosophy, Viking Electric has a tuition reimbursement program for associates for the expenses they incur while working towards their educational goals. This benefit is available to both full-time and part-time associates. Courses that associates complete must be taken through accredited colleges, universities, technical schools and trade schools.
